Thirty years ago, Bayer Pharmaceutical UK asked me to evaluate a business development project in conjunction with Ashridge Business School - I was doing an MBA then: the parent company – Bayer AG - wanted to build an Integrated Health Care business and sought business acquisition, drug distribution, or service provision opportunities.

My project focussed on business acquisition.

Three decades later, it still makes sense.

At the heart of my analysis, I developed a strategic framework to evaluate any project risk and return on capital, including the development of business strategy.
